Hardwood Floor Repairs
A good repair is one you cannot find afterward. That takes species matching, grain matching, and patience.
Damage is rarely a reason to replace a whole floor. A dishwasher leak, a radiator drip, a stretch of boards ruined under a dog crate — these are almost always local problems with local solutions.
The craft is in the weave: cutting the damaged boards out on staggered joints, matching species, cut, and grain, and blending the repair so the eye passes right over it.
What this includes
Water damage
Cupped, crowned, blackened, or delaminated boards. We find the moisture source first — repairing wood over an active leak is money thrown away.
Pet stains
Surface staining often sands out. Urine that reached the wood fibers usually does not, and honest board replacement beats a patchy bleach job.
Board replacement and weaving
Staggered cuts, species and grain matching, and reclaimed material when a historic floor needs it.
Squeaks and movement
Loose boards, missed joists, and subfloor separation — fixed from above or below depending on access.

Map the repair
Which boards come out, where the joints land, and how far the blend needs to extend.

Source the material
Matching species, cut, and width. For old floors that sometimes means reclaimed stock.

Weave and set
Cut, fit, fasten, and level flush with the surrounding field.

Blend the finish
Spot-finishing where the existing finish allows it; refinishing the room when it does not. We will tell you which one you are looking at.
